Our mission at On Common Ground (OCG) is to improve the lives of individuals experiencing economic, social and/or familial poverty in the greater Attleboro area by fostering and encouraging the active involvement of the local community in 1 : 1 unpaid volunteer relationships with them.  The core values of the organization are expressed through voluntary relationships, mentoring, role modeling, social opportunities, life-skills, education, friendship, resource information and/or referrals, and organizational partnerships.  With the understanding that the condition of any one life will affect the lives of the whole community, it is the desire of OCG to improve the quality of life for all through a “principle of connectedness” to one another that crosses the boundaries of generation, ethnicity, creed, social status, and capabilities.

The Mentor Center

The sunflower has symbolic importance to our Mentor Center. Standing strong and proud, a sunflower follows the sunlight until it blooms,  grows deep roots and then shares it’s harvest.

​Thus, like our mission, sunflowers bestow the gift of passing along the privileges we’ve been granted to those yet to grow out of the soil, towards the light and so on…
